DETROIT – This Valentine’s Day, the Downtown Detroit Partnership invites couples to a Sweetheart Skate Date at The Rink at Campus Martius Park presented by Visit Detroit, the

Each year hundreds of engagements occur at this winter destination and the reason is clear as…well, ice.

“The Rink at Campus Martius Park has long been regarded as one of the most romantic places to spend Valentine’s Day in the D,” said David Cowan, chief public spaces officer, Downtown Detroit Partnership. “With picturesque views of the Detroit skyline and trees wrapped in thousands of illuminating lights, the scene is set for sweethearts to enjoy a beautiful and memorable skating experience, gliding hand-in-hand under the stars.”

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., The Rink will dial up the romance with mood lighting shining down on the ice in universal colors of love, while DJ Invisible spins feel-good ballads and classic love songs that will surely ignite the thrill and inspire everyone to add one or more of them to their playlist.

Those looking to “pop the question” to their sweetie this Valentine’s Day at Campus Martius Park are encouraged to tag their engagement pics on social media using the hashtag #engagedatcampusmartius.

This three hour, Valentine’s-theme skating opportunity at The Rink isn’t just for sweethearts and spouses. Singles looking for a night of fun are invited to come downtown, have dinner and celebrate friendship with their besties at the premier outdoor skating rink in Michigan.
