DOWNTOWN DETROIT INVITES FAMILIES TO A DOUBLE DOSE OF HALLOWEEN FUN WITH LIL’ BOO BASH AND THE NEW TREAT N’ PEEK

Campus Kids Day: Lil’ Boo Bash presented by Corewell Health and Downtown Detroit Treat n’ Peek supported by Lake Michigan Credit Union bring costumes, activities and trick-or-treating Oct. 4

DETROIT – One sweet afternoon. Two unforgettable Halloween experiences. The Downtown Detroit Partnership is inviting families to the heart of the city Sunday, Oct. 4, for two free events featuring costumes, games, hands-on activities, trick-or-treating, giveaways and more from 1–5 p.m.

Campus Kids Day: Lil’ Boo Bash presented by Corewell Health returns to transform Campus Martius Park with Halloween-themed activities and entertainment, while the new Downtown Detroit Treat n’ Peek supported by Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) extends the celebration to Cadillac Square and along Woodward Avenue with a trick-or-treat adventure featuring dozens of downtown businesses.

Together, the events offer two distinct ways to celebrate Halloween in one visit, from costumes, games and kid-friendly programming at Campus Martius Park to collecting treats and discovering the shops, restaurants and businesses that make up Downtown Detroit’s growing business community. Downtown Detroit Treat n’ Peek gives attendees an opportunity to step inside, meet the people behind the businesses and learn more about what they have to offer.

“Bringing Lil’ Boo Bash and Treat n’ Peek together gives families even more ways to experience Downtown Detroit and celebrate Halloween,” said Soula Burns, vice president of fund development and partnerships for the Downtown Detroit Partnership. “Families can enjoy all the activities at Campus Martius Park and Cadillac Square, then make their way along Woodward Avenue to visit the businesses that help make downtown such a vibrant destination.”

Campus Martius Park will come alive Campus Kids Day: Lil’ Boo Bash, with guests encouraged to arrive in their favorite costumes for an afternoon of Halloween-themed entertainment and activities. Highlights include a 3 p.m. costume contest with categories ranging from Too Cute to Spook and Best Dressed Boo Crew to Crafty Costume Creator, a make + take craft presented by Metro Parent, giveaways from Birdie’s Bookmobile, lawn games and a giant pumpkin bounce house.

Kids can also step into Detroit CHEMpreneurist’s Spooky Start-up Lab! Brew Your Own Brand, where they’ll create their own body scrub while exploring chemistry, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Lil’ Boo Bash is part of the Downtown Detroit Partnership’s signature Campus Kids Day series, designed to bring families together through fun, wellness and learning in the heart of the city. Presented by Corewell Health and supported in part by the Detroit Zoo, the free series features themed, interactive programming that encourages play, learning and connection at Campus Martius Park.

Downtown Detroit Treat n’ Peek supported by Lake Michigan Credit Union

Downtown Detroit Treat n’ Peek takes the Halloween celebration beyond Campus Martius Park with a trick-or-treat adventure that also invites families to discover Downtown Detroit’s business community throughout Cadillac Square and along Woodward Avenue.

Attendees can start in Cadillac Square, where they can pick up a free Halloween-themed tote, while supplies last, before making their way along Woodward Avenue from Campus Martius Park to John R. Participating businesses will welcome trick-or-treaters with treats while opening their doors to the community.

The growing lineup includes Avalon Café + Bakery, Bonobos, Born in Detroit, Free People, The Lip Bar, Nike Community Store, Savage X Fenty, Shinola, Tecovas and Warby Parker, among many others. Additional businesses represented in Cadillac Square will include American Coney Island, Bon Bon Bon, Detroit City FC, Hot Sam’s Detroit, Lake Michigan Credit Union, Painting With A Twist, Peach Cobbler Factory, Rebel Nell, Toastique and Xhibition.

LMCU’s support of Downtown Detroit Treat n’ Peek comes just months after it opened its first Detroit branch at 2715 Woodward Ave., extending its involvement along the same Woodward corridor where families will trick-or-treat during the event.

“Since opening our first Detroit branch on Woodward Avenue, we’ve been excited to find new ways to connect with the community and support the people and businesses that make downtown special,” said Traci Harris, retail regional director at LMCU. “Downtown Detroit Treat n’ Peek is a fun way to bring people together, explore the Woodward corridor, discover businesses they may not have visited before and get to know more of what Downtown Detroit has to offer.”
