The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) is a member-based organization that strengthens and supports Downtown Detroit through strategic initiatives and programs. As a steward of the Downtown community, the DDP convenes business, philanthropic, and government partners to create a vibrant and resilient urban core for Detroit and the region.

We Make It Happen Together
For 100+ years, the DDP has stewarded the Downtown to be a vibrant, clean, safe, and welcoming community to all, made possible through partnerships with civic, corporate, and community leaders. We Make It Happen Together represents Detroit’s spirit and the collaborative environment in which we all live, work, and play.
Signature Events
The Downtown Detroit Partnership convenes thousands of business executives, thought leaders, change makers and government officials annually at our impact-oriented DDP signature events and meetings.
Parks and Public Spaces
Downtown Detroit Parks and Public Spaces offer guests a place for respite, relaxation, and comfort any time of day. Additionally, patrons can experience internationally known performances and innovative artistry, take part in cultural celebrations and healthy initiatives, or simply enjoy the essence of nature surrounded by a beautiful sea of Detroit’s iconic skyscrapers.
Downtown Detroit Business Improvement Zone
The Downtown Detroit Business Improvement Zone (BIZ) is a public body that works to create a vibrant Downtown through a variety of services made possible through the commitment and financial contributions of Downtown property owners. The BIZ, governed by a volunteer board of directors, contracts with the DDP to ensure services are maintained without interruption.
Small Business Support
The DDP offers a variety of resources for local small businesses, including events and listening sessions, which connect small businesses with each other. We recognize the vital role small businesses play in creating a vibrant, innovative, and thriving community. Our mission is to drive economic and social impact in Downtown Detroit, and through the expansion of the DDP Small Business Program, we are committed to strengthening and growing the local small business ecosystem.
Urban Innovation
DDP is proud to serve as a leader in urban innovation, planning, and placemaking efforts within Downtown Detroit. The DDP works to meet the needs and interests of Downtown stakeholders, including property owners, business owners, employees, residents, and visitors. With the goal of promoting Downtown Detroit’s ongoing development and urban vitality, DDP collaborates with the Downtown Detroit BIZ, the City of Detroit and strategic partners, to envision and implement initiatives related to public spaces, sustainability, infrastructure mobility, residential and commercial development, and more.
Downtown Safety
Safety is a priority for the DDP in our efforts to make Downtown a desired destination for businesses, employees, residents, and visitors. At the forefront of our strategy is the strong collaboration we facilitate and maintain among safety professionals in the public and private sectors. The Downtown Safety Program, a collaboration with the BIZ and DDP, focuses on keeping Downtown clean, safe, and welcoming for all.
