Beacon Park opened in July 2017 and spans 1.2 acres in Downtown Detroit. It features stunning light installations, an open lawn space and a contemporary two-story restaurant. The park hosts a program of daily organized activities from musical performances and children’s events, to art installations, local markets and more. Beacon Park serves as a magnet for the community – attracting over 3 million visitors since its opening – spurring new development in surrounding businesses.

Trees do so much for us, like removing pollution from the air and providing us with oxygen. 🌳 At Beacon Park, our 41 trees include four species - Red Maple, Black Gum, White Oak, Bur Oak and Red Oak - each of which helps us capture 1,500 pounds of carbon dioxide every year!

When the air smells like mulch and buds begin to sprout, that`s how you know it`s officially #gardening season. 🌷🐝 We planted tulips at Beacon Park because their bulbs are bright and colorful, and each one has a way of lifting the overall mood of our visitors.

The NEW Swinging Bells are filling up beaconparkdetroit with holiday sights + sounds! 🔔
Make the most of the early evening and drive downtown to check out the five giant swinging bells, each with a hanging swing set. This FREE activation invites visitors to swing on each bell, and once all five are rung, a unique song and light display will be activated. 🎶
The one-of-a-kind installation is designed to bring people together - specifically during the holiday season. 🙌
Beacon Park is a open from 6am to 10pm and the Swinging Bells will be on display until Sunday Jan. 9, 2022. And while you’re there, check out their Christmas Tree and make reservations for a snack or dinner inside the igloos at lumen_detroit 🎄
