I’m Cari Easterday, and I fell in love with Detroit when I began working downtown in 1997. I’ve been fortunate to witness the city’s growth and success, and I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing it all along the way.
- Downtown Detroit Cocktail Lounge: The Lone Goat is the place to go for that true pub feel and the bartenders know how to pour a Guiness.
- Downtown Detroit Coffee Shop: There is nothing I love better than diner coffee. Cadillac Square Diner is “The World’s Best Diner Coffee”.
- Downtown Detroit Lunch Spot: Avalon Café & Bakery is my favorite lunch spot for their famous PB&J.
- Downtown Detroit Retailer: I love to shop and even more so when it’s for a cause, Rebel Nell in Parkers Alley doesn’t just create beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry and art but they do it to support the women of our community.
- Downtown Detroit Experience: The Annual Detroit Tree Lighting in Campus Martius is a must do to kick off the holiday season right.
- Downtown Detroit Hotel: The Element Detroit will always hold a special place in my heart as it was one of the first old buildings I had the chance to wonder through years ago.
- Downtown Detroit Scenery/Outdoor: If you have not enjoyed a refreshing cocktail or glass of wine with the windows open and breeze blowing at Lumen Detroit in Beacon Park, you are missing out on something amazing.
