DETROIT – The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) will host its 2nd Annual Party in the Park on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 6:30–9:00 p.m. in the award-winning Campus Martius Park. Contributions will benefit Downtown Detroit parks and public spaces managed by the DDP.

“This summer event shines a light on the growth and history of the Downtown and particularly Campus Martius Park, the city’s centerpiece and gathering space,” said DDP CEO Eric B. Larson. “The Party in the Park helps to keep our parks sustainable and vibrant for present and future generations.”

Additionally, the event celebrates Campus Martius Park’s recognition as the No. 1 Public Square in the country by USA Today readers. Campus Martius Park hosts hundreds of programs and events each year, including the Detroit Tree Lighting, beach parties, Campus Kids Day, and Movie Nights in the D.

Attendees of Party in the Park can enjoy premium networking with civic, corporate, and community leaders, live entertainment by the Dan Rafferty Band, hors d’oeuvres, and specialty cocktails. Guests will also have the opportunity to visit the Campus Martius “Blooms Bar,” a vibrant flower cart experience featuring beautiful floral assortments from local Detroit-based farms, where they can create and take home their own colorful bouquets. Additionally, the benefit will feature a pop-up Kendra Scott boutique, with 20% of all purchases made during the event being donated to the DDP.

Proceeds from the event will help benefit daily operations, maintenance, programming, and beautification of all Downtown parks and public spaces managed by the DDP: Capitol Park, Cadillac Square, Campus Martius Park, Beacon Park, Grand Circus Park, Paradise Valley Beatrice Buck Park, Woodward Esplanade and more.
