A milestone worth celebrating for Downtown Detroit

On Tuesday, June 9, the Downtown Detroit Business Improvement Zone (BIZ) board of directors and DDP staff held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Downtown BIZ Ambassador headquarters, located in the heart of Downtown on Broadway. After more than a year of planning and renovations, this refreshed space gives the BIZ Ambassador team a permanent home in the core Downtown community they serve every day.

The Downtown Detroit BIZ plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, welcoming, and vibrant Downtown for residents, workers, businesses, and visitors. From sidewalk cleaning and beautification efforts to hospitality and ambassador services, their impact can be seen across our city center every day.

What makes this achievement even more meaningful is the team behind it. A minimum of 90 percent of BIZ Ambassadors are Detroit residents whose hard work, dedication, and pride in their community help shape the Downtown experience for millions of people each year.

Thank you to the BIZ Board of Directors, DDP team members, project partners, and everyone who helped bring this vision to life. We are excited to celebrate this new chapter and the continued investment in a Downtown that is clean, safe, welcoming, and thriving for all.
