Join us for a summer of fun and excitement in Downtown Detroit! 

The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) has announced its lineup of free events and programs for all to enjoy across our award-winning parks and public spaces, including Campus Martius Park, voted USA Today‘s #1 public square.  As a fan and follower of DDP, we invite you to preview the 2023 Summer in the Parks Guide highlighting hundreds of activities and experiences.

Kicking off the summer, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear returns to the streets of Downtown Detroit, June 2-4, 2023. Beyond the racetrack, the Detroit Grand Prix and DDP will present the Small Business Straightaway at Cadillac Squarea showcase of local businesses from across the city. And, don’t miss a minute of the action as we broadcast the Qualifier Races, Championships, and all the Autotrader Winner’s Circle on the big screen in Campus Martius Park

Throughout the Detroit Grand Prix weekend, tour the beautiful Capitol Park where Ford will present interactive displays, new vehicles, lawn games, and more. Visit the Michigan Lottery and Wana Brands activationslocated at the Woodward Esplanade.  

June through August, The Beach Parties will return to BrisaBar and The Beach at Campus Martius Park featuring craft cocktails, live music and Detroit’s best DJs. Movie Nights in the D presented by Capital One and supported by Faygo will open with a lineup of acclaimed films from Wakanda Forever to Top Gun Maverick among many more.

Back by popular demand Night Market at Beacon Park kicks off in June and will feature live bands, local makers and artisans, food trucks, and cocktails from Lumen Detroit.  Family Fun Days will also return with make-and-take activities, bounce houses, cultural performances and a new emphasis on STEAM which is sure to appeal to kids of all ages.

At Grand Circus Park, bring your most loyal companion to the themed Grand Circus Dog Park events presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions, or drop-in for one of hundreds of fitness classes offered for all experience levels across multiple parks.  

This is just a small sampling of things to do and there’s much more to discover and explore throughout the Downtown Detroit Parks.
