Downtown Detroit Partnership Promotes Anjana Schroeder to Senior Director of Marketing and Communications

Expanded leadership role advances enterprise-wide strategy, branding and communications

DETROIT — The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) today announced the promotion of Anjana Schroeder to Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, expanding her leadership across DDP’s strategic marketing and communications portfolio.

In her new role, Schroeder will oversee DDP’s enterprise-wide branding and integrated messaging across all business units, including parks and public spaces, urban innovation, data, BIZ collaboration and small business. She will provide strategic oversight and creative direction of DDP’s digital platforms, publications and external vendors supporting social media, digital and corporate communications. She will also guide brand stewardship to ensure alignment with DDP’s strategic priorities and lead key initiatives and special projects that advance DDP’s visibility and thought leadership.

Since joining DDP in 2017, Schroeder has played a central role in positioning the communications function as a strategic resource across the organization. She has successfully integrated goals from multiple business units while launching new platforms that raise DDP’s profile and impact.

Her promotion reflects her forward-thinking leadership and impact in elevating DDP’s voice, visibility and mission to cultivate social and economic impact in Downtown Detroit.

“Anjana’s leadership has steadily grown in responsibility and influence, reflecting confidence in her ability to guide and shape complex initiatives and represent the organization while communicating its work and mission across all marketing and communications efforts,” said Sharon Garcia, vice president of marketing and communications at the Downtown Detroit Partnership.

Schroeder previously held key news and multimedia production roles at Crain’s Detroit Business and at WLNS Channel 6 and WXYZ Channel 7, where she contributed to Emmy Award-winning coverage. Her work spotlighted Detroit’s hospitality and events sector, impactful human-interest stories and essential local news reporting.
