Downtown Detroit Partnership Launches “25 Days of December” Holiday Campaign to Celebrate Small Businesses and Spark Downtown Cheer
- Monthlong celebration runs Nov. 29 through Dec. 23, encouraging visitors to shop, dine and discover the best of Downtown Detroit
- Festivities include the new Downtown Holiday Adventure Card and weekly Holiday Character Hunts with prizes and surprises
DETROIT – Holiday magic is spreading across downtown as the Downtown Detroit Partnership kicks off its inaugural “Downtown Detroit 25 Days of December” campaign, a monthlong celebration highlighting and supporting the more than 290 small businesses that define the Downtown’s vibrant retail and dining scene.
Launching Saturday, Nov. 29, on Small Business Saturday and running through Tuesday, Dec. 23, the campaign will create a unique holiday experience festive fun, prizes and local pride, making Downtown a must-visit holiday destination for residents and visitors alike.
DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY ADVENTURE CARD: SHOP, SCRATCH AND WIN
At the heart of the campaign is the new Downtown Holiday Adventure Card, a festive fun way to discover Downtown’s local restaurants and retailers, with a chance to win amazing Downtown Detroit prizes. Participating businesses across downtown will offer special promotions throughout the campaign to help spread the holiday spirit. Participants can pick up a Downtown Holiday Adventure Card at The Rink at Campus Martius Park presented by Lexus, Cadillac Lodge or one of the 40 participating downtown businesses. Each purchase at a participating business earns shoppers a scratch-off sticker revealing an instant incentive or promotion. After seven purchases, cards can be submitted at the GW Home store on Woodward Avenue for a chance to win one of three prize packages, including local Detroit packages and a Grand Prize of a $5,000 shopping spree at GW Home. Winners will be announced Dec. 26 on the Downtown Detroit Partnership’s social media channels, and winners will be notified by phone and email.

HOLIDAY CHARACTER HUNT & PHOTO CONTEST: FIND THE FUN
The 25 Days of December excitement continues each Saturday with the Holiday Character Hunt & Photo Contest, a Downtown social media character hunt featuring appearances from Buddy the Elf, Santa Mickey Mouse, Olaf and Jack Skellington.
Every Saturday, starting Nov. 29 through Dec. 20, a new character will appear somewhere Downtown. The Downtown Detroit Partnership will post clues on its social media channels, guiding participants to find the character, snap a festive photo and share it tagging @DowntownDet and using #DDP25Days for a chance to win a unique Detroit prize package. Each week brings new characters, clues and prizes, creating something new to discover every Saturday.
