Downtown Detroit Partnership Announces Lexus As Presenting Sponsor of The Rink at Campus Martius Park Through 2028
- Voted the nation’s No. 1 ice skating rink, The Rink reopens Nov. 22, launching the 2025-26 season

DETROIT – The Downtown Detroit Partnership today announced Lexus will serve as the presenting sponsor of The Rink at Campus Martius Park through 2028, marking its commitment to one of the region’s most celebrated winter attractions. Voted the “No. 1 Best Ice Skating Rink” in the country, The Rink is Michigan’s premier outdoor skating destination and has been a signature feature of downtown Detroit’s vibrant public spaces for the past 22 years.
The Rink at Campus Martius Park presented by Lexus and programmed and managed by the Downtown Detroit Partnership officially opens for the 2025-26 season on Friday, Nov. 22, kicking off an exciting weekend of themed skating events, prizes and family-friendly activities. Open seven days a week March 1, 2026, The Rink invites residents and visitors to enjoy one of the most iconic skating experiences in the country, set against the backdrop of the city’s Christmas tree and dazzling skyline. The Rink has also hosted Olympic and U.S. champion skaters including Nathan Chen, Meryl Davis, Charlie White, Ashley Wagner, Jeremy Abbott and Karen Chen.
“The Rink at Campus Martius Park reflects what makes downtown Detroit special. It’s the energy, connection and the ability to bring people together in a setting you can’t find anywhere else,” said David Cowan, chief public spaces officer at the Downtown Detroit Partnership. “Our partnership with Lexus enhances that experience and helps us keep The Rink a place where the city comes alive all winter long.”

Media are invited to capture photos and b-roll on Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. to noon, as the Downtown Detroit Partnership and Lexus host a special “First on Ice” skate event ahead of The Rink Opening Weekend.
THE RINK OPENING WEEKEND – Nov. 22-23
The Rink at Campus Martius Park presented by Lexus opens at 11 a.m. Nov. 22, inviting skaters to glide into the spirit of the season. The weekend will feature festive-themed skate parties with prizes and giveaways on both days.
UGLY HOLIDAY SWEATER PARTY PRESENTED BY MICHIGAN LOTTERY
Saturday, Nov. 22 • 6 to 11 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to don their best ugly holiday sweater for a night of festive fun under Detroit’s Christmas Tree. Skaters can enjoy music, prizes for the best sweaters and free $5 instant tickets during the “Lucky Lottery Minute” each hour of the event.
POLAR EXPRESS SKATE PRESENTED BY METRO PARENT
Sunday, Nov. 23 • Noon to 4 p.m.
Enjoy a magical afternoon of skating to holiday tunes, story time, photo opportunities and hot cocoa. Attendees are encouraged to wear festive fashion for a chance to win prizes.

In collaboration with Michigan Amateur Hockey Association, Detroit-area children will receive free on-ice instruction and a full set of hockey equipment courtesy of the Detroit Red Wings.

SK8 TO ELIMIN8 CANCER

The Sk8 to Elimin8 Ice Show returns for its ninth year, featuring world-class and local skaters raising funds for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.
THE RINK ADMISSION AND PURCHASING
Admission for the 2025-26 season is $12 for adults; $9 for children 12 and under and seniors 59 and older; and $8 for military and first responders. Skate rental is $6. Tickets and skate rentals are available in advance at DowntownDetroit.org/TheRink. A limited number of walk-up tickets will be available per session on a first-come, first-served basis. Group rates are available by calling 313-963-9393.

Now in its second year, CHALET 313 returns Nov. 22 as Campus Martius Park’s two-story heated lounge and ultimate holiday retreat. This glass-enclosed space offers cozy seating, a lively bar and 360-degree views of the ice rink, Christmas tree and skyline. It’s the perfect spot to sip drinks, warm up and enjoy the magic of the season with family and friends.
