Downtown Detroit Partnership Announces Board Updates

Current Board Member, Bob Riney, president and CEO of Henry Ford Health named Vice Chair of DDP Board

DETROIT (December 18, 2024)The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) welcomes five new local leaders to its Board of Directors. Henry Ford Health’s President and CEO Robert G. Riney, currently on the Board, assumes the Vice Chair role as Daniel J. Loepp, president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, retires from the Board. 

 

The executives joining the DDP Board include:  

  • Todd Bettison, Interim Chief of Police, City of Detroit 
  • Hassan Beydoun, Group Executive for Economic Development, and Counsel to the Mayor, City of Detroit 
  • Kevin Guskiewicz, President, Michigan State University 
  • Nicole Sherard-Freeman, Chief Operating Officer and President-Elect, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan 
  • Joshua Sirefman, Chief Executive Officer, Michigan Central

 

“The DDP Board is actively involved in driving our mission to create a vibrant, safe, and thriving Downtown,” said DDP CEO Eric B. Larson. “Our team relies on this diverse group of leaders to guide our initiatives. We are thrilled to have their support as DDP continues to help shape the future of Downtown Detroit.  

 

In addition to Loepp’s retirement, the following Members retiring from the DDP Board include: 

  • Peter Cummings, executive chairman and chief executive officer of The Platform LLC 
  • Richard (Ric) DeVore, outgoing president of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan 
  • Kenneth Hayward, vice president and special assistant to the president for Community Relations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan 
  • James White, former Detroit Chief of Police 

 

“We are deeply grateful to the retiring Board members for their invaluable contributions to the Downtown Detroit Partnership and the broader community,” said Cindy Pasky, founder, president, and CEO of Strategic Staffing Solutions and Chair of the DDP Board. “As we step into the new year, we embrace new opportunities. With Bob as Vice Chair and our refreshed leadership team, we are excited for all that we will accomplish together.”
