Tonight’s the night! The Downtown Detroit Partnership’s 100th Anniversary Celebration begins at 5:00 pm. We will gather in Campus Martius Park for a veritable who’s who from across the city and our region and bring our shared memories of Detroit over the decades.
We’re expecting nearly 500 guests, and there is still room for more. If you have not registered, but would like to, you can do so on our website up to the event.
A few logistical items: If you are registered and did not receive our “Know Before You Go” email, you can access it here. It includes parking information, where to pick up your name badge and other important details.
One hundred is more than a number. What does a milestone like this really mean? It is the ability to be flexible, creative, willing to adapt to changing times and priorities and adjust the mission accordingly. I take a stab at articulating the longevity and survival of an organization here.
While tonight is all about the event and coming together, the fun does not stop there. Included in this issue are a few more important events that should be on your radar, including some final parks programming not to miss.
And as this is the last issue before Labor Day, a day that honors the contributions of our workforce, allow me to send a special thank you to the DDP and Downtown Detroit BIZ Ambassador teams. This incredibly dedicated and brilliant group of individuals always bring their best. Without them, none of the above would be possible.
See you tonight in Campus Martius Park.
