Rip Rapson Receives Distinguished Service Award
Last week, DDP Board Member Rip Rapson, CEO and president of The Kresge Foundation, received one of the Council on Foundations most prestigious awards: the Distinguished Service Award. The Council is a nonprofit association that serves as a guide for philanthropies as they advance the greater good. It has more than 1,000 member organizations. The award highlights those who have accomplished a great deal in the field of philanthropy, and have done so while exemplifying the intellect, integrity, and leadership to which the field aspires. The award was officially presented at the Council’s 2026 Building Together conference in Seattle. Read more.
Roger Penske Honored by Pope Francis Center during Annual Gala
The Pope Francis Center recognized DDP Board Member Roger Penske last month at its 2026 Building Bridges Gala at Ford Field. The founder and chairman of Penske Corporation was saluted for his leadership, philanthropy, and dedication to improving the Detroit community – and beyond. Nearly 1,000 attended the event that raised more than $2 million to help ensure individuals and families experiencing homelessness have the support and resources they need to heal and live dignified lives. Tiffany Albert Recognized as Notable Leader in Health Care by Crain's Detroit
Congratulations to DDP Executive Committee Member Tiffany Albert on being included in the Crain’s Detroit Business list of Notable Leaders in Health Care. As senior vice president of Community Relations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Albert oversees Community Responsibility and Social Mission teams and is the president of the BCBSM Foundation. She is also chief inclusion officer for Blue Cross. Read more.
