Bank Of America Named Presenting Sponsor for Downtown Detroit Partnership’s ‘Winter in the Parks’ the Next Three Years
The partnership supports free, family-friendly winter programming and Detroit traditions across DDP’s 18 Downtown Detroit parks and public spaces.
DETROIT – The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) today announced a multi-year agreement with Bank of America, the nation’s No. 1 small business lender, to serve as the presenting sponsor of Winter in the Parks for the next three years. The partnership underscores DDP’s commitment to create accessible, high-quality programming and public space experiences that bring people together in the heart of the city. It also reflects Bank of America’s commitment to strengthening communities nationwide.
A Detroit tradition since 2003, Winter in the Parks brings seasonal programming and festive energy to 18 parks and public spaces managed by DDP, including the award-winning Campus Martius Park. Together, these spaces attract more than 4.5 million visitors annually. This first-of-its-kind partnership will allow DDP to continue and expand its offerings, foster civic pride and meaningful community connections through inclusive, engaging experiences and amenities.
Building on DDP’s year-round cultural programming, which includes more than 1,200 events and activations celebrating Detroit’s creativity and spirit, Winter in the Parks offers engaging activities and festive fun during the colder months. It highlights local talent, strengthens community connections and reinforces DDP’s mission to make downtown a welcoming destination for all. With support from partners like Bank of America, whose commitment to building strong communities helps create these experiences, visitors can enjoy ice skating, trivia nights, shopping, dining and cozy moments under the lights, making Downtown Detroit’s parks the place to be this season.
“At Bank of America, we believe that strong communities begin when people come together,” said Ed Siaje, president, Bank of America Detroit. “Supporting the Downtown Detroit Partnership’s Winter in the Parks events gives Detroiters welcoming places to celebrate the season and enjoy the energy that makes this city unlike anywhere else. This investment reflects our commitment to a vibrant and connected Detroit.”
“Winter in the Parks transforms downtown Detroit into an entire seasonal celebration of community, creativity and connection. Thanks to Bank of America’s support, we can keep our parks vibrant with amenities and experiences that bring neighbors together, attract travelers and make the city’s parks and public spaces a destination for everyone year-round,” said Soula Burns, vice president of fund development and partnerships for the Downtown Detroit Partnership.
As one of the nation’s leading financial institutions, Bank of America supports initiatives that bring people together and celebrate local culture across the country, including Downtown Detroit Partnership’s Winter in the Parks, Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park New York City, the Christkindlmarket in Denver and more.
