Downtown Detroit, Thriving Neighborhood
The Downtown Detroit Partnership, in collaboration with the Downtown Detroit Business Improvement Zone, publishing the annual Downtown Detroit Community and Development Update. Now in its ninth edition, this is a leading resource on significant commercial, residential, infrastructure, and public space projects happening in and around the Downtown neighborhood.
This year’s theme is seeing Downtown Detroit as a neighborhood, a thriving neighborhood. The DDP and Downtown BIZ believe this neighborhood identity should guide how we understand Downtown’s progress and plan for its future. Downtown is a business district, a connectivity district, a regional gathering place, and a residential community. Its long-term vitality depends on all these roles.
That perspective gives the developments featured in this Community and Development Update a broader meaning. Each completed project and proposed investment has the potential to shape daily life: creating homes, supporting businesses, improving access, or making public spaces more welcoming.
