Since it’s 3/13 day in Detroit, let’s keep the good news about our favorite city going.

A recent study by Hotels.com and SeatGeek has found that Detroit is the No. 2 best American city for sports travel, behind only Washington, D.C.

(Hey, maybe that’s why Max Scherzer bolted. Too soon?)

The study took the top 25 American cities based on ticket purchases across all sporting events, then ranked them in the following categories: Sports popularity (most tickets purchased), ticket affordability, destination popularity and average hotel price using a weighted point system. All data used was based on 2014.
