While I love the updates, it also makes me sad to see how native Detroiter's were left to struggle, property taxes were over assessed causing many people to lose their homes. Crime was horrible and there were no city services, poor transportation, and property value was in the toilet. White folks were scared of Detroit and never repped our city. Outsiders bought up all the property for Pennies, were given tax breaks, and now they own the majority of everything and treat us like outsiders when we frequent their newly established businesses. The city is still predominately Black but you wouldn't know it if you were downtown. I think businesses should be required to contribute to a neighborhood development fund.
