Campus Martius Park and Chene Park both offer an exciting lineup of special events and concerts through the month of August.  River Days is ready to launch this Friday, followed
by the blast off of the Target Fireworks on Wed., June 24.

Lunchtime Music Series Returns June 18
Campus Martius Park

The “Lunchtime Art” music series, part of Campus Martius Park's fifth annual "Summer in the Park" program, features Detroit-area musicians and a variety of performances on the Park’s main stage, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., weekdays through August.  The Park offers a musical break from the workday with some of Detroit’s finest musicians, visual artists, and dancers.  For details, visit www.campusmartiuspark.org.

There’ll be “dancing in the park” as the Detroit 300 Conservancy presents the monthly 4th Fridays with Ford on June 26th, July 24th and August 28th.

6:00 p.m. – Tribute Concert to Motown's 50th Anniversary
7:30 p.m.

– "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" Film

Join the official June 26 after party at Bookies Bar & Grille in north downtown, 2208 Cass Ave. 
Following each 4th Fridays with Ford event, a different downtown district will be highlighted with food and drink specials and giveaways for those who visit the spotlight districts.
 

Chene Park Amphitheater Thru August 21
Jazz, classic soul and R&B acts are the staples of the season at Detroit's riverfront amphitheater.  Featured performers include India Arie (June 19), Will Downing (June 25), George Clinton (July 17), and Earl Klugh (July 22).  Chene Park is located on the Detroit RiverWalk between the GM Renaissance Center and Stroh River Place.  For ticket information call 313.393.7128 or visit www.cheneparkdetroit.com
 


Concert of Colors – July 18-19
The 17th annual musical celebration of metro Detroit’s cultural diversity will take place in and around the Max M. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave. (at Parsons).  Presented by ACCESS, New Detroit, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Concert of Colors features over 35 musical acts, including Mali guitarist Vieux Farka Toure and Detroiter Don Was.  All performances are free, but reserved main stage "Groupie" seating packages start at $60.  Visit www.concertofcolors.com for the complete schedule.
