All New Restaurant and Bar, The Fountain Detroit, arrives in Campus Martius Park
May 19, 2016 (DETROIT) – Today Downtown Detroit Partnership announced the latest addition to Campus Martius Park and Detroit’s restaurant, bar and outdoor dining scene, named The Fountain Detroit. The restaurant and bar arrived in the unique beach area at the park this morning in preparation for the 2016 summer season. The restaurant design is the first of its kind in Detroit, creatively built as a decommissioned 40-foot-long steel-shipping container. The Fountain Detroit is scheduled to open for full-bar service on Friday, May 27.
As the first restaurant venue from the 800 Parc LLC, which was named the new concessionaire for the park in February 2016, The Fountain Detroit builds on the foundation of the former successful Beach Bar and Grill and promises to have menu options to serve all audiences following the opening.
The restaurant will open prior to the kick-off of the 12th annual Summer in Parks season that brings free events and entertainment to the heart of the city with international and Detroit musical artists and a wide variety of activities ranging from exercise, networking, movies and arts. The seasonal installation of the full-service restaurant will be open from late May through mid-October.
“As one of the country’s most popular downtown urban beaches, The Fountain Detroit’s extensive new food and beverage offerings will significantly enhance the visitor experience,” said Robert Gregory, Chief Public Spaces Officer of the Downtown Detroit Partnership. “We’re thrilled to host this creative and exciting new seasonal restaurant and bar in Campus Martius Park.”
The Fountain Detroit is a state-of-the-art example of modern “cargotecture,” the adaptive reuse of industrial shipping containers. The 320-square-foot space has been designed to provide exceptional food and beverage service for the thousands of guests that visit Campus Martius Park every day, whether for a quick casual lunch or after work networking.
“With The Fountain Detroit, our goal was to create a casual, fun and exciting outdoor environment where we can provide stellar service and a memorable experience to thousands of guests at any given time,” said Zaid Elia of 800 Parc LLC. “Our world-class venue, custom-built facility, and experienced team of industry professionals will bring this goal to life for the enjoyment of all who live, work and play in downtown Detroit.”
The restaurant and bar is continuing to hire experienced and outgoing staff for all positions, including servers, bartenders and cooks. For more information, and to get in touch with The Fountain Detroit, please visit www.fountaindetroit.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
